At Wayzata Brew Works, visitors will then enter the 2,500-square-foot taproom, which harkens back to the early days of Wayzata and the history of the brewery’s location. The Boatworks building sits on the site of the original Moore Johnson Boat Works, a boat building business that was run by early Wayzata settler Royal C. Moore.

Wayzata Brew Works, offers guests a great view of Lake Minnetonka from inside the taproom and on the outdoor patio. Entering the 5,000 square-foot micro-production facility through the Boatworks building will get an up-close look at the tanks and equipment for brewing and distilling.

Head Brewer

TIM MANLEY

Tim first fell in love with beer on his 21st birthday (and not a day before) as a home brewer while studying biology in college and realizing brewing is a science. He went on to study brewing at Siebel Institute in Chicago & Doemens Akademie in Munich Germany, graduating top of his class with a master brewer’s diploma. Tim also spent a month traveling in Germany, Austria and Belgium where he conducted "field research" and toured breweries. He is an animal lover and likes outdoorsy “stuff” such as hiking, camping and fishing. His favorite beer is the Wayzata Brew Works Oktoberfest and he strongly suggests you try it during your next visit. Tim is excited to bring a new standard of quality to the Wayzata Brew Crew and can’t wait to craft your favorite beer!

General Manager

Rich Anderson

Rich has always had a passion for beer and has never left home for a party/event without a cooler of his favorite brews. After 25 years in the Printing Industry, he turned his passion for beer into a career as a brewer at The Freehouse and now at Wayzata Brew Works bringing craft beer to the shores of Lake Minnetonka. He grew up on Lake Minnetonka and has loved the lake and the Wayzata area his entire life. In his spare time, Rich enjoys drinking Wayzata Brew Works beer, serving at beer festivals and spending time on his boat with family and friends (especially his daughters Madelyn and Hannah, and his 2-year-old grandson Odin, who loves being on his grandpa's boat). Rich also enjoys cooking, hunting, fishing and helping friends in need. His favorite food is a pork or beef roast with carrots, potatoes, gravy and a thick creamy oat meal stout. Rich aspires for your craft beer experience to be the best. He will welcome you when you arrive and thank you when you leave!
