The talented and wonderful comedian Wendy Berkowitz, hosts our comedy showcase at Wayzata Brew Works. Shows will be on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month...with a bonus show if there are five Thursdays! Each show will have three professional comics performing feature length sets. In addition, there will be a couple of up and coming talented local comics performing. Parental guidance is highly encouraged. :
The comics for tonight’s show are:
Shelly Paul is the oldest of 5 kids and was born and raised in Minnesota, where she started doing stand-up in January of 2014. Her comedy is incredibly personal, bitingly poignant and just a little bit absurd. She’s not afraid to be vulnerable and honest on stage, which might make you leave her shows feeling that somehow you’ve known her your whole life, and are pretty sure that you’ve got matching tattoos to prove it. Wait, what?
Shelly is a co-producer of the monthly show “PSSY CTRL” at the Comedy Corner Underground, a club where she is also a show-runner, producer and frequent performer. She was winner of the House of Comedy’s “Funniest Person with a Day Job” contest in 2016. She was a producer and host for the 2018 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival. She has opened for Tom Green, Michelle Biloon and Joe Zimmerman and was named one of the top 5 comics to watch in Minneapolis by Growler Magazine in 2017.
St Paul’s Favorite Son knew he was destined for stardom when he was voted 8th funniest person in the city of Coon Rapids. One of the more sought after comics in the Twin Cities, Alvin will disarm you with his smile, while offering his silly, scathing yet relatable take on life.
